2025 Program Application

Requirements of the program:

1. You must be a junior about to enter your senior year at the end of the summer.
2. You must be a US citizen, US national, or a permanent resident.
3. You must have your passport by January 28th, 2025.


We seek to identify students who are passionate about science and discovery and who are eager to explore other societies and their cultures

Preference is given to students who attend institutions where research is not the primary focus. Under-represented minority students are strongly encouraged to apply. We also give preference to students who have taken a junior level E&M course if possible.

Five steps to Apply
Please make sure that ad blockers are turned off or you may have problems.

1. Apply to the program via the NSF ETAP common application at the following link:

We have a few additional things we need that are on our Supplemental Online form (Passport information, YouTube URL for a 60 second or less video telling us who you are as a person, etc.)

2. Complete the Supplemental Online application form (

3. You Must print, sign, Scan and Submit the Certification page:

4. Submit a High Quality Color Scan of your passport identification page
This is the page with your full legal name. The passport MUST be valid for the duration of the program. This must be received by January 28th, 2024

5. Have two letters of recommendation, a resume, and your transcript sent to us
via the ETAP system: The recommendations MUST be submitted by January 15th, 2024.
