Undercooled: A Materials Education Podcast is a look into active learning, flipped teaching, team based/project based learning and much more.  Everything related to teaching materials science and engineering will be covered. With a bit of luck there should a new episode every Sunday.

Undercooled is a collaboration between Tim Chambers and Steve Yalisove. Tim is a lecturer and Steve is a professor in the Materials Science and Engineering department at the University of Michigan. Tim's PhD thesis was focussed on Physics education. Steve has long championed the elimination of lecture and exams, replacing it with team based/project based pedagogies and other assessment techniques.

Both Tim and Steve are members of the TMS Education Committee where the idea for the podcast was born. The Department of Materials Science and Engineering at UM is kindly sponsoring the podcast by paying for the production and hosting fees.
